Características clave

  • Panel mounting with Bright OLED display
  • Accuracy < 0.25 % of reading
  • Configurable from front panel
  • Adjustable relays with built in indicators

The FCO418 is the panel mount version of our popular FCO432 low pressure differential pressure transmitter. The available models include a range of low-pressure instruments starting at just ±50 Pa with an accuracy of 0.25% of reading, higher pressure instruments measuring up to 10 bar, as well as a 1500 mbar absolute pressure device. The pressure cell is based on the unique Furness Controls capacitive sensor of proven reliability.

Features include temperature correction, display damping and configurable units. Outputs can be scaled to velocity readings, enabling flow and velocity measurement using Pitot Tubes or Laminar Flow Elements (LFEs). Relays allow the transmitter to directly drive external alarms or other circuits at configurable measurement thresholds.

Output Options

The transmitter is available with 2 and 4-wire isolated 4-20 mA current options as well as voltage signalling, allowing it to fit into a range of industrial and scientific set-ups. USB, RS232, RS485 and Modbus connections allow interfacing with PCs or other control hardware.

Configuration

There are two ways in which to configure the pressure transmitter. The front panel membrane keypad allows for easy, on-device configuration in the field. Otherwise, configuration can be carried out using the provided FCS541 utility software and internal Micro-USB connection.

The FCO418 can be zeroed using an externally fitted button or suitable electronic circuit. There is also the option to use the auto-zeroing function with an adjustable delay between 0.0 and 24.0 hours, with a 0.1 hour resolution.

Typical Use Cases

The differential pressure transmitter is designed to replace water column manometers, VA flow meters, analogue meters and inaccurate pressure switches. It is suitable for industrial and scientific applications of control, measurement and monitoring, including:

  • Combustion pressure measurement and control of dryers, kilns, ovens and furnaces
  • Flow measurement or blockage detection across filters and membranes
  • Gas/air flow measurement in conjunction with laminar flow elements or Pitot tubes
  • Glove boxes, cleanrooms, wind-tunnels and many more….
